Ahiatoro was always a' cood favourite in the .Hunters , Flat Handicap, but there nero several otaers well Sacked, ami anything was paying a fair price. Tirau led for a, couple ot furlonpe. and then Hoa.tn and Atuatoro went to the front and led to tha straight, where Seville, who had met with interference, came along on the outside, and Tirau also nut in n run. From a good start Tirau rushed to the front and led past the stand to the back stretch, where Atuatoro took charge. At the entrance to the straight Tirou again took charee, and Hoatu and Seville also passed Atuatoro. Seville put in a strong challenge, .but could not reach Tirau, who won comfortably by two lengths.
