A joint meeting of members of the Wellington Bookbinders' and l'aperrulers' Trade Society. Wellington Typographical Union! a-id Wellington Letterpress Union was held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Saturday last (Mr. C. H. Chapman presiding)l" to receive the report troni the unions' representatives on the negotiations with'tho employers, in the of an. increase '.in wages and improved conditions. The report wiis received; and the following recommendations were carried:— '"That this meeting adopts the suggestion indicated by the Wellington master printers, and that tho 1/itterpress Machinists.:, and Typographical Associations, and.the Wellington Bookbinders' Society apply to the New Zealand Jlaster Printers' and New Zealand Newspaper Proprietors' Associations for a conference with,- a view, of eecuring increased wages and improved conditions of labour." "That , in tho event of failure to agree on the matters in dispute,, in any subse-quent-conference, the Lellfrpress Machinists' and Typographical Associations, and .the. Wellington Bookbinders' Society apply to the Arbitration Court for amendment of awards with a view to- obtaining relief from the bunion of increased cost of, living." Tt was also decided that the representatives appointed bo given a free hand in any subsequent nroceedings. . '
