In the case- in which Mcssre. SV hvrkpatrick and Co. were proceeded against on Friday last on an information of having sold'jam to the New Zealand Government without giving a sufficient description on the 'libel, the jam referred to was Kirkpatrick's eecond quality, Golden B brand. It was labelled Rnspberrr" This :s a mixed jam, containing not more than 20 per cent, of apple.
Attention is drawn to nn appeal to _lho ratepayers of Day's Bay in connection with to-day's poll to decide the question of drainage and water supply.
