CONVALESCENT WARD FOR SOLDIERS. (By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Mastcrton, Juno 28, At a meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board jo-day it was announced that the W'au'arajm Patriotic Association had donated £M towards the erection of a convalescent ward for soldiers in connection with the Mnslerton Hospital. The oiler was received with thanks, nnd it was decided to apply to tho Government lor a subaid v of' 21s. in the pound. The board resolved to reinstate upon thciy return any offers going on active Se 'uter considerable discussion it wns decided that: an allowance or 2s. per week be made to tho old-age pensioners who aro in the institutions r.umeetcij wilh tho board.
