PARTY OF 30 LANDED NEAR MANGONUI
The Secretary of the General Post Office has been advised by the postmaster at Mangonui as follows:— "Wimmera.—Mr, Stacey, Native school teacher at Taemaro, ou tho .coast four miljs east of Mangonui, came in at 8.30 p.m., and reported that four survivors were iu his house, and about twenty-six on the bench. Mr. A. M'lCay, storekeeper, is here with his launch and relief party. Just left to pick up thjso on the beach. Tho names known are:--Mrs. Dunne, Tom Grimslmw, Mr. and .Mrs. Jones, — Bruce, Tom. Graham, — Mu'dock, Howell (A.8.), John M'Aitney, Y. M'Lca, S. Yates, but the names are roughly written oh a slip of paper. Tho sen is calm. Will report eventualities later."
