ANOTHER TRAM ACCIDENT
CAR V. DRAY. Tho rather 6Cn6&tional tramway accident which occurred on Lnmbton Quay on Monday evening was not the only one recorded during the day. An up-bound car, traversing Adelaide Road, caught up to a dray that was -well laden, with bricks, aud was proceeding leisurely along tho tramway track in the same direction. The motorman is said to have mounded his goifg and applied the brakes, but seemingly tho brakes did not act, or did not act quick enough, for the car shot full into tho dray, there was a crash of splintered glass, and a scene of excitement 'fliu fore-part of the tramcar was pretty badly damaged, the glass screen beiiitr smashed and tho apron bent backwards. Luckily no one was injured. Tho motorman, seeing his danger, jumped from the car just before the collision, but so close was the shave that a piece of-the glass from the screen nicked a, piece of cloth out of his cap.
