ENEMY TRADERS
AMERICA N GOVERNMENT'S ATTITUDE. 'i'lio following declaration of a foreign correspondent required to be obtained by holders of registration certificates in the United States shows the attitude adopted by the-American Government in connection with enemy traders:—
"Having arranged with —— to ftct as (he agent in the United States for, or on behalf of, the undersigned, under regulations issued by the appropriate authorities of the United States Government an:l/or the undersigned having agreed to act as the foreign correspondent of tho said , T/wo do hereby declare thai: I/we will not deal or attempt to deal, directly or indirectly with said agent or correspondent in any transaction for, or on account of, for tho benefit of, an enemy or ally of enemy of the United States, and will not make available for the use of an enemy or ally of enemy of the United Slates any fund-: or properly received or credits established at a result, of any transaction engaged in with or through said agent or correspondent, and will not transmit to said agent or correspondent for collection or crcrilit any negotiable instrument bearing the signature or indorsement of an enemy or ally of enemy to (he United Slates. Tho words 'enemy' and 'allv of enemy' are used heroin as now or hereafter defined by laws of the United Stales or by Proclamation of tho President of Ihe United States."
