DISPATCH OF MARRIED MEN
MINISTER QUESTIONED AS TO SHIPPING DIFFICULTY. _> By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Juno 25. Humours in circulation as to the possibility of the dispatch of married men of the Expeditionary Force being postponed owing to difficulty in respect of shipping were mentioned by a reporter to Sir James Allen. Regarding the rumours Sir James Allen advised the reporter to burn them.
In reply to a question as to whether any modification was contemplated in connection with the dispatch of married men to the front, Sir James Allen said that at present there were no proposals being considered, and none would be considered until a reduction of the strength of reinforcements being sent had been decided upon. Tn respect of that matter, when the strength was increased it was to operate for five months, and that period bad not yet elapsed.
The Minister added that the Dominion was in u good position regarding its reinforcements owing to the few casualties reported recently.
