LADIES' ASSOCIATION. The sixth series of games in the first round of (ho ladies' hockey competitions wiie plnyod (it Karori Park on Saturday. After the heavy rain of tho Inst few days the grounds wore a bit soft, but in very fair condition. The senior games were not up to standard, the two leading teams—Ramblers A. and Wellington Girls' College A—both securing easy wins. The following arc the redulls of tho various games:— Seniors. Wellington Girls' College A v. Pay Department.—College had all the beet of tho play, winning by six goals to nil. Their passing and general play was of Ihe best, Miss Marchbanks scoring five out of the six goals—three in the first half and two in the second—while MissGore scored the other goal. Mr. Lloyd was referee.

Public' Trust v. Base Records.—From the start Public Trust made tho ganio open and fast, and some pretty forward rushes kept Records on the defence. In tho first spell. Miss O'Leary scored two goals, and in tho second spell Miss Gilfedder scored one. The Public Trust won by three goals to nil. Mr. Jones had charge of the game. Ramblers A v Wellington Girls' College B.—Ramblers had all the best of tho game, although at times College looked like scoring, but could not put the final touches to one or two good forward passing rushes. In the first spell Miss Pickering scored three goals; in tho second spoil Misses Lang and Lamberg- ench ecored a goal, Ramblers winning by five goals to nil. Mr. Edward* • carried the whistle.

Himhati v. Eambler* B.—ln the firet spell HiiahaK opened by forcing the play into EflmWere' quarters., but tlio Rood defence of the backs saved the situation. Play for a time was very evon, then the forwards playiUß well together forced the Ramblers back, and Hiss Hume scored. Shortly afterwards Aliss Edmondson' scored. In the second spell ■play all through was very even, neither side scoring. Huahati. therefore, won by two goals to nil. Mr. Wheatley was referee. . Junior. Y.W.C.A. v. Tβ Aro School.—For tho second time this season the game between these two teams resulted in a draw. The play from start to finish was very fast and even, the ball travelling from end to end every few minutes. Both eides had several shots at goal, but could not score. At the call of time play was in mid-field, and the game ended with no score. Mr. Cusack had charge of the game. '■ MEN J S ASSOCIATION. Another series of games in the first round of the Men's Competition was played a.t Karori Park on Saturday. Tho Trentham teams, A and B, eacli won their matches. Ramblers easily defeated Y.M.C.A.. C, Feaijiereton just managed to win against Karori, while Base Records had to give way to Y.M.C.A. A. The following table shows the position of the teams to date:—

Results.. Trentham A v.- Paiy Department— Trentham proved far too good for the Pay Department, in the first spell, scoring five goals to nil (Harman 3, Nesbitfc 1, Sinclair 1). In the second spoil play was more even, eßck eide scoring a goal. Proctor, for the Pay Department, and Stead (Trentham) being the scorers. Trenthara won by six goals to 1. Mr. E. E. Madden had charge of (ho game'. Ramblers v. Y.M.C.A. .C-BamWore, playing with gre.it combination, never gave Y.Ji.C.A. a look in, scoring six goals in tjie first spell and nine in the second. The scorers were: Tait (5), Smith (3), Johnson (3), Kuch/(2), Wheatljy (2), thus winning by 15 goals to nil. Mr. A. C. Pragnell carried the whistle. Featherston v. Karori—Featherston, from- the "bully-off," carried play well into Karori ( quarters, but the fine defence of the full-back-: and goal-keeper snved the position.- A fine drivo by the goal-keeper shifted the play, which for a time was very oven. Then Featherston got the bn.ll at their own twenty-five line, forced their way right down the field, and Frazer finished up \>y finding the net. Play at the end of the epell was of an even nature. In the second spell, Karori opened well, and gettiDg the better of the play soon placed their "opponents on the defensive. Davis found the net'. Feathersfon now improved their play, and forced Karori on the defensive, which for a time proved to be too good. At last Voss got past and scored. Shortly afterwards Lye added another goal, the game ending without any further score, Featherston winning by three goals to one. Mr. Lloyd carried the whistle. Trentham B v. Y.M.C.A. B-Trontham in the first spell had much the better of the play, putting on two goals to nil, Lees and Champness being the scorers, while in the second spell they added four to their opponents' one. Lees (2), Law (Vf, and Champness (1) scored for Trentham, while Tandy (1) scored for Y.M.C.A. Trentham won by six goals to one. Mr. Wheatley was referee. Y.M.C.A. A v. Base Records.-From the ' bully-off" play was very even, the hall travelling from end 'to' end of the field every few minutes. Just before halftime Y.M.C.A. scored. Both teams showed improved form in the second spell, and some nice passing kept the game open. Half-way through Records scored. Y.M.C.A., playing well together, just before time scored the winning goal, and won by two goals to one. Mr. F. Spiers was referee.
