Some concern is now being felt at the probable shortage of wheat, and that no steps are yet announced as to what will be done to make up the deficiency. It is urged that if the millers had more good Australian whea't for milling purposes more use could be made of ihe inferior lines. Potatoes are the only ' lino that i 3 moving, and these somewhat \slowly, as growers are not offering very freely, and the drizzling rain that 3et in last night and may continue will put a check upon deliveries. Sales have been made during the month at A's 15s. to £$ at country stations. A fair quantity of both potatoes and oatsheaf chaff .went, north during the week. A consignment of chaff has been shipped to Wollihgton and railed to Napier.
