At a meeting of the Advisory Board of the- Federation of Patriotic Societies today, a remit from the Grey association— "That the Government bo urged to have tha conferring of tho British Empire Orders on Now Zcalandcrs stopped"— was considered to bo outside tho scope of the board. lij was agreed to, recommend all societies to contribute to tho regimental funds, and to make representations to the Government -with a view to improving tho conditions governing tlio financing of returned soldiers on .Crown lands, and where suitable land is available to proceed without delay with the settlement of returned soldiers thereon.
