Guthrie, stated yesterday that for the present month and the month of July thoro will be sufficient shipping to Xnake a fair, clearanco of meat, and that in the month of August it might bo possible to havo a further satisfactory clear- ■ ance of meat. ' But nothing definite could be said about the ships to bo available for September aud the months beyond, owing to tho chances that ships now expeoted may bo diverted elsewhere. No definite information was at present available. It is noteworthy that in former years the Shipping Control in England have been able to help Now Zealand with ships during tho summer months hero, but there is no news, apparently, that this will be the case this year.
