APPLES FOR EXPORT
FRUITGROWEKS ASKING FOR SHIPPING SPACE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, June 19. The directors of the' New Zealand Fruit' growers' Federation, sitting here, decided to telegraph to the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, requesting him to send a cable message to the Hon. Mr. Mnssey asking him to interview the Imperial authorities and endeavour to secure space for twenty thousand cases of apples from ■New Zealand during .March, April, and May next. The step is taken as the result, of a Tecent cable message stating that the importation of fruit will probably be allowed by the British authorities next season. The export of sixty
thousand cases of early varieties next season would greatly relieve the local markets, which otherwise would probably bo unable to consume the supplies.
