SECOND DAY'S SITTING MESSAGE FROM THE KING i (Roc. Juno 18, 8.30 p.m.) „ London, Juno 17. Tho Press Bureau states that the second meeting of the Imperial War Coilfcrenco was hold on the morning of Juno : 17. Thero was a full, attendance, including representatives of Australia and India. The conference includes for the iirst tune Iko representatives of all the .Dominions and India, and is moro completely representative of tho Empiro than any previous conference. Mr. "Walter Long, ,who presided, read the King's reply to the Confereneo's loyal resolution, as follows-.— Tho King thanks tho War Conference for its renewed assurance of the devoted loyalty of all parts of (ho Empire. lam »lad to welcome tho delegates from all tho Overseas Dominions and India, and have received tho resolution with very special pleasure. Tho Conference has met in circumstances of unparalleled gravity, and is proof of an Empire united in its determination to uphold tho common rights and liberties ot' mankind. Tho King trusts that tho deliberations will lead to even closer associations in all parts of tho Empire. MOVEMENTS OF DELEGATES Mr. Hughes's health is improving, though ha is unlikely for a few days to take part in functions outside the Imperial Conference mid War Cabinet. It is understood that there is some chance of the Conference's proceedings receiving better publicity than was the case last year. Probably precise subjects, not affecting the war, will be issued at regular intervals. The Lord Mayor of London will entertain tho Dominion Ministers on July 1. Jtr. Mnssey and Sir Joseph Ward visited tho Now Zealand Hospital at Walton-on-Tharaes, and addressed the mon. They wero trrcatly interested in tho work dono among limbless patients. Sir Joseph Ward pledged New Zealand to look after fhoso temporarily or permanently disabled,—Ans.-N.Z. Cable Assji.
