AN IRISH VENDETTA
patriotic citizens boycotted MORE LAWLESS OUTRAGES (Rec. June 16, 11.5 p.m.) London, June 15. Owing fo their opposition to an anticonscription resolution six members of tho Wicklow Town Council, havo .been boycotted. The vendetta forced one member to leave and find work in England. Another decided to.closo down his business and leave tho town owing to the labourers refusal to load his steamers. Tho third, a grocer, isjsuffering seriously through the loss ol customers. Two men shot two policemen at Tralee in daylight, but escaped. Tho police are scouring the districts, but no arrests have yet been made. There was a. riot at Ballygar, in Galway, in connection with the arrests for illegal drilling. The crowd threw rotten eggs and stones, blocked the road with trees and barbed wire, and cut the telegraph and telephone wires. Finally the police charged tho mob with bayonc-ts. Sixteen counties and boroughs in Ireland have be'en proclaimed under martial law.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
