From to-morrow, Mrs. Geddis is goint; to be in charge of a Copper Trail booth at Courtenay Place, where subscriptions in pennies or pounds will be received foi the copper-plating of the tra"clt between AVellington and Auckland. The trail is still uphill, but it will not be long before it is speeding down hill 'towards the sands and the sea.
An aged lady visited the Lambton Quay pavilion yesterday, and, stalingthat her age was 76, said she wished to give a penny to the fund for overy year she had lived, but could only do it in instalments. The old lady pud down the first instalment, and arranged to come each week until she had made goodlier promise.
