Mr. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward, and the Canadian and Newfoundland delegates were welcomed at Euston by Mr. W A i S. Hewins (Under-Secretary for tlio Col- - onies), on behalf of (ho Government, and Sir Thomas Mackenzie. A contingent of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, headed by the New Zealand Band, welI coined the New Zealand delegates, who r were escorted to their hotel by n. squadlion of New Zealand Mounted Rifles on horses lent by the Life Guards. ; The Hon. A. Fisher (High Commis- ; sioner for Australia) welcomed Mrs. Hughes and the Hon. R. R. Garran.- - Aus.-N.Z. They reiterated the desire of Australasia to prevent Ger.Ti.iny reoccupying tho Pacific Islands as bases , against Britisli dominwicy in that part of the world. Up to the present, New Zealand had not been behind with a ( single man in keeping up its reinforcements. Oh the contrary, it had exceeded the monthly drafts.
