'The Vairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., stock department, report —We held our weekly Carterton salt on Friday,-when a zood yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward, and was submitted to a large attendance. Mock met with fairly keen competition, and we disposed of practically the whole of ihe vardintr under the hammer at the following prices:-9heep: Fat and forward ewes, 235. Bd. to 265. Ltd.; store ewes,• 165.; w.f. lamb?, 7s. 3d. to 12s. lid.; b.f. lambs, 10s. Cattle: Fat cows, £10; store cows, jA 10s., JE6 15b.. £7; two-year Jersey heifers, in calf to purebred Jersey bull, £5; cows, in calf, £5 135., £8 165., to £13 10s.; cows and calves, £9 fa. to £9 10s.; weaners, £2 10b.; hull, £9 10s. PiKS: Baconevs, £5; porkers, 255. 6d.; slips, 12s. 6d. to 145.; weauors, 6s. to 9s. fid.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., I'almeraton North, report having a fair yarding: of both sheep and cattle at the l'almerston Xorth yards on Thursday, where nearly every line offered changed hands. Following: arc quotations:—Sheep: Cult woolly lambs. 6s. 2d.: small do., 10s. 3d.; medium do.. 14s. 9d. to 175.; forward empty ewes, 21s. 9d. to 245.; cull do., 65., 7s. 6d. to Ms. 2d. Cattle: Small weancr heifers, 165.; small empty heifers, £3 10s.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd,, renoi't:—At Palmerston North-on Thursday we had «, large entry of both, sheep and cattle, which we submitted to a fair attendance of buyers. Prices on Hie whole were, much easier than, of late, but ilw bulk of the yarding changed hands at the following rates:—Fat ewes, 275. 3d, to 265. 6d.; store ewes, 7s. 3d.: woolly lambs (good); 21s. Id.; store lambs, 12s. 6d. to 205.; fat lambs. 245.; springing cows. £4 10s. to £10 55.; springing heifers, £7 10s.; store cows, £6 10s. to £8 55.: cows and calves, £10: fat cows, £9 10s., £10 55., to £12 10s.; empty heifers. £4 to £5 55.; yearling heifers. £2 55.: yearling bulls, £4 10s.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report :—At Feildiug on Friday there was an exceptionally hcavv yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle, which was submitted to a large attendance of buyers. Prices on the whole were slightly easier, especially in regard to lambs, but the bulk of the yarding changed hands at satisfactory prices. Fat wethers, 30s. Bd.. 31s. 3d., to 365. 3d.; fal ewes, 225. 6d., 275. 3d., to 275. Sd.; forward ewes, 19s. to 225.; ewes in lamb, 215.. 245. 6d., 255., to 26?. 4d.: wether lambs (small) 16s. Id.; mixed lambs, 16s. lOd. to :95.; cull lambs, to 6s\ Id.: Tat cows, £12 10'.; yearling heifers. £i 55.; spriiiginj cows, in poor condillon, £7.
Messrs. Wright. Slenhenson and Co.. Ltd.. report having offered a henry yarding of cattle and a small entry of sheep at the Carterton sole on Friday. There was a good attendance, and a fair demand tor all classes of stock. Quotations: F.m. ewes, in lamb, 205.; m.s. lambs. 135.: forward cows, to £9 95.; cows in calf, £8 ss. to £10; heifers, in calf, £8 los. to £9 at. iA.; heifers, at, drop to £10 55.; m.a win. ers. £3 to £4 Is.; small weaners, 30s.
