In the South Island_ the development of Shorthorn Breeding is more on the lines of tho beef type, and Canterbury ■ Dairy Shorthorn K 3 of late years' gone much to joeei. Dairy cows are, however, not in the same demand in the South Island as Si li is grazing cattle' lather than milkers that are required/'
