3 SOME INTERESTING FIGURES. Lily, one of the fine purebred Shortihorn cows of the herd of Mr. William Brady, of Woodville, has put up -a gratifying semi-official record (says an exchange;. Lily commenced her test on April 25, 1917, at tho age of thirteen years 21a days. During her lactation period she prodnced 13,567.51b. of mill, containing 590.341b. of fat. In her best month (May) she gave 16141b. taming <7.47 lb. fat. During the whole 01 the season sho was milked twice a day, and in addition to her rather in- ■ different pasture she consumed 1 ton oewt. 3qr. 211b. of bran, and 2 tons 16cwt. Iqr. 201b. of mangolds.- Sho was ted green oats from July 15 to October 1 and maize from February to the end of Mr list. A summary of the cost of production for the year is as follows:—Bran at <£6 10s. per ton, JC9 6s. 9d.; mangolds at £1 ss. per .ton, £3 10s. 7d.; grass at 2s. per week, .£5 55.: total, .£lB 2s. Id. Against this must be set 5901b. of fat at Is. 10d. lb.-J54 Is.
