Materials involving metals -of various include the following:— Nails 4236 feet Screws 3377 feet Steel Stampings 921 feet Porgings 798 feet Turnbuckles 276 feet Wire 32G2 feet Aluminium 65 pounds The various kinds of wooden material mount up as follow:— Spruco 241 feet Pine 5S feet Ash 31 feet Hickory li feet Other material necessary for the finished plane is as follows:— Veneer 57 sq.fest Varnish 11 gallons Dope 59 sjallons Rubber 34 feet Linen 201 sq. yds. This mass of material is exclusive of everything necessary for the.engine alone. This'data is obtained by the "Scientific American" from the United States Signal Corps Aviation Section.
