SENTRNCB IN TCARIOT MANSLAUGHTER CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wannanui, May 31. Jn the Supreme Court, in the Karioi manslaughter case, John Robertson was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment, with seven years' reformative treatment to follow. Turi Wharemati, for carnally knowing a girl under the age of consent, was admitted to probation. Ills Honour said this was the first case of the kind he had so treated, but, in his opinion, prisoner was not so much to blame as the grandmother of the girl. William Alfred Warner, who pleaded guilty at Now Plymouth to the theft of money, was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment. Pukeke Hune, for forgery, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, he having volunteered for service at the front.
