MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. The Wellington City Council met last evening. There- were present the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), Councillor W. H. P. Barber, G. Frost, J. Godber, W. H. Bennett, A. E. A. Veitch,- L. M'lveuzie, M. P. Luckie, J. 0. Shorland, C. B. Norwood, W. J. Tliompson; J. Castle, E. A. Wright, W. T. Hildreth,-and J. E. Fitzgerald. .' i An application for consent lo the authorisation of a private wav to Lots 28 and. 29, Block 12. jiimu Road, Kelburn, was granted conditionally, The application of a certain taxi-cab driver for a license was refused. The resignation of Mr. J. B. Hildreth as poundkeeper was accepted, and Mr. E. Greeks, ranger, was appointed to the position. An application for permission to erect a. wooden wall, instead of a brick one, on the boundary of Section 507, Sutherland Koad, Jfaranui, was not granted.
