Dr. Bonhaiu, Professor of Biology of Otngi» University, was . the lecturer, his subject being; "Biology and Agriculture." Bishop Sadlier, chairman of the Trust Board, announced that the board had offered the Government £i! 0) a year fm' two years to set apart two plant pathologists with special qualification to investigate orchard diseases in the Nelson district. He also announced that the Cuwthron minor scholarships- would be inaugurated this year. The scholaishipl would be open to secondary school pupih of (he Dominion. v Their vnlue would he .£BO a year, and with the prospect of higher scholarships to be offered later, would be the most valuable research, scholarships in the country.
