AND THE CArTATN WHO CAN HELP US HOST. (Specinl Reporter,) Masterton, May 28. Mr. W. J. Birch (Marton) moved at the. Wellington Farmers' Union Conferonce at Masterton 10-dny.— That.the Farmers' Union assures the Prime Minister that the produc-' ers will support the Government in •carrying "info effect any measures which the Government deem necessary to take in sending additional reinforcements to help tho Empire at this critical time. In supporting the motion, Sir. Hugh Morrison iMaslerton) said Hint he was a member of the Second Division awaiting his turn, and he realised that tho Government should he given all the support they, needed. It would ho Taettev for a man to lose his lift in the war than to live here if this country fell into the'hands of the enemy. Mr. 11. Law (Shannon) said I here was one thing the union was overlooking— they never referred to the Captain who could help them most. Mr. W. B. Matheson (Eketahuna) agreed. He suggested the inclusion of the .words "with God's help." In the end tlfc. words were not included, Mr. Matheson withdrawing the suggestion. The motion was carried.
