LABOUR BAISES FRESH OBSTRUCTION. Melbourne, May 23. Mr. Tudor moved a resolution in tho House of Representatives condemning the Government for enlisting for service abroad youths under ago without obtaining their parents' consent. He said it was not intended as a motion of want-of-confidenco in tho Government. Tho debato was adjourned.—Press Assn. MEETING OF UNION OFFICIALS. Sydney, May 23. A meeting of secretaries, presidents, and other oiiicinls of twenty unions affiliated with the Labour Council endorsed the resolutions carried at tho GovernorGoneral's recruiting conference, and submitted a request to the unions for a conforenco of delegates, with a view to the organisation of an industrial body pledged to act in consonance and adopt the policy of the trade-union movement. It also osprcsscd strong disapproval of tho proceedings of the last meeting of tho council, and urged tho need for its reorganisation and tho elimination of the j oxtremo revolutionary clement.—Press | Assn.
