Howard Elliott, organiser for tlie Protestant Political Association. Tlio speaker received an enthusiastic hearing, and was frequently cheered by an orderly meeting. The following resolution was carried unanimously: "This meeting of the Protestants of Oamaru expresses its strong adherence to a national system of education and its disapproval of wants in any form to denominational schools; it calls upon the Government to withdraw all concessions and scholarships already made, and so preserve Hie integrity of the national system."
