TO-NIGHT'S BIG CONCERT
fr ■ AT GRAND OPERA HOUSE. What should prove to be one of the finest concerts given in Wellington this .yeiir will take placo at the Grand Opera House this evening, and as the total receipts aro for the Red Cross and lied Jersey funds, in which no one can be disinterested at the prooent juncture in the affaire of the Empire, a bumper audience is expected. The programme is of a character that .should appeal to »i! classes of tho community, including as it does excerpts from the operas, lovely ballads, and a dance programme that will appeal to all.. The dancers who are to appear are tho pupils of Miss Gladys Campbell, who has Tjeen at pains to rehearse her talonted charges thoroughly in their artistio paoes. The vocalists will include: Miss Mina Caldow, New Zealand's premier contralto; Miss Teresa il'Enroe, Miss Nola Haybittle, Messrs. Herbert E. Wood, Martin Duff, Len Barnes, and Bo* O'CoDnor. The accompaniment* will be. played by Mr. Harold Whittle. Mr. Frank Johnstone will play a 'cello solo, and' a specially selected orchestra, tmder Mr. H. Moschini, will play selections. Tho box plan is at tho Bristol.
