ISLAND BAT CLUB.
Members of tlie Island Bay Bowling Club held a card party at tlie clubs rooms on Wednesday, and opportunity was taken by the junior members-who constitute the bulk of the membors-to show a practical appreciation of tho senior mom bore on coaching them throughout tho season. In presenting Messrs. H. T. Ballinper, ,1. Gruar, 1. J. O'Dea, W. S. Broderlak, and VV. J. Gaudin encli with a. measuring-tape and call-pore-suitably inscribed—tho juniors hoped that they would in sow* measure be Tepaid for the time they had devoted in showing tho colts the finer points of the game.
