A SPECIAL PLOT AT KARORI

Arrangements have bean completed at last for, the reservation of a plot of ground at ICarori Cemetery for tlio graves of soldiors who liavo died in and near Wellington. Tho committee of the Women's National Reserve yesterday mot the Reserves Committee of the City Council and received assurances that tho necessary work as to bo put in liand at once. The soldiers' plot is expected to be ready for use within a few woeks. Tho Women's National Reserve lias worked long and liard to complete this arrangement. It was felt that the bodies of the soldiers who had died in the military hospitals in and around Wellington should be placed in a special plot of ground, which could ho plfintcd und also as a site for a soldiors' memorial. Much delay vas caused by tho inability of Government Departments to agree on the question of responsibility for soldiers* graves, but the control of tho Dofenco Dopartmont has now been estab--11 Tho' Belooted plot of land is about anacre in area, md is situated near the entrance to the Karon Cemetery. bpace will be resorved at the centre for tns erection of a toonumont, and tho graves will be standardised. Pians for tlio improvement of tho ground willbo arranged bv the City Council and tho Women s National Reserve. WEen the necessary arrangements lia-ve teen completed the bodies of soldiors already buried at Karori will be removed to tlie soldiers plot.
