TELEGRAPH OFFICERS
CHANGES IN THE P. AND T. DEPARTMENT.
Consequent upon the retirement of Mr. Orchiston. as Chief Telegraph Engineer, at the ond of tho month, there has been several important ihahges decided upon in the personnel of the higher officials on the telegraphic 6taff, of the Post and Telegraph Department. Mr. Orehieton will be succeeded as Chielr Telegraph Engineer by Mr. E. A. Shrimpton, lit proBent Telegraph Engineer for the Wellmgton district i Mr. T. Buckley, Chief Electrician of the Department, becomes the Director of "Telephone Services, and Mr. A. -Gibba, Telegraph Engineer for the Auckland district, will come to Wellington as Assistant Chief Telegraph EnginC °Mr. C. S. Plant, Telegraph Engineer at Christohurch, is to succeed Mr. A. Gibba at Auckland; Mr. H. L. .Cum-, mings, Assistaut Engineer, Wellington, will succeed Mr. Shrimpton as Telegraph Engineer for the Wellington district, whilst Mr. B. C. Gage Assistant Engineer nt Auckland, will take up Mr. Plank's duties at Christohurch,
