OBITUARY
MR. THOMAS REDWOOD. The death is recorded of Mr. Thomas Redwood, on© of the earliest and bestknown, colonists in Maryborough. He was born in Staffordshire, England, and waa the third eon of tho late Mr. Henry Redwood, for many years proprietor of Stafford Place Station, in Nelson. Archbishop Redwood, of Wellington, is hie brother. The late Mr. Redwood wne trained to farming pursuits. In the. 'seventies he purchased the Burleigh Estate, which lie ran for twenty-three years. Later ho farmed Woodburne, near Renwioktown. An accidenjt in 1900 compelled his retirement, ana ho has since lived at "Southside," Blenbeim. He wae a member of the Provincial Council Executive and of the Waitau Licensing Committee, aEd was for eoine time secretary of the Marlborough Racing Club, subsequently owning several winners on the turf.
