Anion? the men who returned from the front and England last week were several who won their commissions on the Held. Of these— Captain Michael J. Lyons, of Devonport, sailed with the Main Body as a strgeaut-major in the Artillery, being previously in the Permanent ArtiUery. Hβ gained his commission on the field on Gallipoli) and was promoted to captain in France. He was wounded on Uallipoli, and is now back'on duty. The adjutant of the ship, Lieutenant Louis Morilzson, M.C., M.M., of Epsom, has a distinguished record. Ho left tlo Dominion as a sapper in the Divisional Signal Company, and was wounded on the first day of the Gallipoli landing. He returned at tho end of May, and served until September. He gained tho Military Medal for the Somme action, and later was promoted to lieutenant. He received the Military Grose for distinguished conduct in the Passohendaele fighting. H's has returned on duty furlough. ■ . Lieutenant H. N. Nicolson. Lieutenant W. P. Brothers, M.M., Lieutenant B. J. Kemp, unci Lieutenant W. "W Howell, M.M., all left New Zealand in the ranks • with the Main Body, nerving on Gallipcli and in Franco, lieutenants Kemp and Brothers have been wounded three times. Pergeant H. Cook kft with the Main Body, and served on Gallipoli and in France. Two brothers havo been killed and one is still, serving in Palestine.
