Loan and Mercantile Agency 00., Ltd., rsport:-At Palmerston North, on Thursday, we had a good yarding of both Bheep and cattle at our weekly sale, when competition for all, lots showed a slight improvement on recent sales. Quotations:—Forward ewes, 18b. 4d.; good mixed lambb 19b. 9d.; fair lambs, 13s. 7d., 15s. 10d., 168.; small lambs, ss. 6d„ 7s. Da., 12b. 10d.; b.f. lambß, 10b.. 11b. 2d.; small two-tooths, 165.; fat cows, ,£lO 45.; forward cows, £7 10s., £8 55.; store cowb, ii, £5 55., £5 12s„ £6 Is,; dairy cowb in milk, £9.
Messrß. Dalcety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at Levin on May 7, when they offered a medium yarding of both sheep and cattle. Compett tion for the sheep whb good, but the cattle were dull,of Bale. The principal sales effected were as 'under:—Pat wethers, 33a. to 335. lOd.; medium two-tootn. •wethers, 21s. 7d. to 245.; cull empty ewes, 7s. to Bs. 6d. Cattle: Pat heifers, £10; three-year steers, £9 155.; two and a halfyear steers, £9 7s. 6d.; _ twenty-month steers, £6; twcnty-m-uith heifers, £3; yearling steers, £4 6s. to £4 16s. At their Otaki yards on Wednesday Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., offered a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle to a good attendance of juycrs. The aur.nty of tho yarding of sheep was exceptionally good, and keen competition was elicited for quite a number of lota offered. A good line of four and 6lx-tooth ewes was sold by auction at the satisfactory price of 355. 2d. Ot>cr sales effected were as under;- Qood-condilion shorn lambs, 18a. Id.; forward four-tooth wethers, 30s. 2d. to 31s. 4d.; light-weizht forward ewes and wethers. 265. 2d.; poor condition empty ewes, 12s. Id.; 220 forward four-tooth wethers, 315.; 120 forward two-tooth wethers, 28s. lid.; medium shorn lambs, 13s. to 13s. 4d.; small woolly lambs, Bs. fid. to 11s. Id.; forward emntr ewes. tfls. KM. Ctitiic: Light-weight fat cows, £9 2s. to £9 65.; fat heifers, £8 10s. to £8 155.; empty cows, £5 17s. 6d. to £i 19a.; threo-vear steers. £8 ss. In £8 10s.; good-colour yearling steers. £4 2e.; dairy cows, early calvcrs, £8 16s. to £10 16s.
Messrs. "IVrifflit. Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report that they held their weekly sale at Ekctahuna nn Thursday, when they offered a fair yarding of sheep and cattle. Competition was animated, lambs being: in particularly good demand. Prices obtained were:—White-face lambs, IBs. 6(1.; b.r. lnmbs, to 17? lid.; small mixed-sex two-tooths, 2(ls. to 245. Id.; ewes in lamb, 255.; store ewes, to 175.: llffht fat cows, £11; mixed-sex weaners, 265.
