MR. HOLLAND'S EXPLANATION OF HIS REMARKS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, May 7. To-night a deputation appointed by Monday's meeting waited on the Mayor with regard to certain remarks he is alleged to have- rondo at Amberley reflecting oil the English wives of New Zealand soldiers.
