. At the Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday the Misses D. Black and Pickthall were hostesses. Tho programme was arranged with much care and afforded great i pleasure' The performers were the Misses : i'imllay, Burt, Dβ Clifford, D. Black, ' Pickthall, Ar'Aro, and Shearer. The : Misses Pickthall and Shearer were at the ; piano. Mr. Monro, niissioner, sjioke of the value of recent gifts to the work, and yloaded for games nf any kind for ships and the institute. Mrs. Chnmlwrs presentnil the prizes for the competitions. The , sailors' thanks were very hearty. i
