SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS ON THE 'JORDAN (Hoc. May 2, 7 p.m.) London, May ]. An official report from Palestine slates: "Early yesterday morning our forces east: of tho Jordan attacked forces of tlio enemy who weru holding tho foolhilis south of i>salt. Ouir mounted troops, moving m.rfch along tho east bank of tho vivnr, worn within two miles of Essalt by nightfall. Wo took 260 prisoners. By noon ivo advanced, our lino west of tho Jordan to .i. maximum depth of a mile in tho vicinity of Mezrah, occupying the village and high ground to tho west after flight resistance.
