SALVATION ARMY WORK IN FRANCE
LETTER FROM SIR DOUGLAS HAIG. Field-Marshal Sir Douglas Haig hae sent tho following letter of congratulation to the Salvation Army for tho service rendered to tho British Armies in Fiance:— "General Headquarters, British Armies. "Prance, 27/3/18. "I am glad to have tho opportunity of congratulating the Salvation Army on tho BMvice which its representatives havo rendered during the past year to british Armies in France. Salvation Army workers have shown themselves oi- tlie richt sort, and I value their, presence here as being one. of the best influences on moral and spiritual welfare ot the troops at bases. Inestimable value these, influences realised when the nioralo of tho troops was afterwards put to the test At tho front, huts which tho Salvation Army has staffed been greatly appreciated. I shall bo K if you will convey thanks of all ranks of British Expeditionary Force in Franco to tho Salvation Army for its continued good work. (Signed) "D.
