i » MR. C. E. DANIISLL REAPPOINTED CHAIRMAN. The annual meeting 'f tho A Veiling ton Harbour Board for the election of a chairman was held yesterday afternoon. -Air. C. 15. Darnell presided over a full attendance of members. Air. Danieil, after reviewing the year s operations, said that during the past three years he had attended to the work of the board to the best of his ability. He had not missed a meeting of tho board or of a committee. Ho could say that ho had enioyed the work, even though it had involved lome personal sacrifice. Mr. R. Fletcher, M.P., proposed that Mr. Danieil should be re-elected to the chairmanship. Ho said he knew from experience that the work required to be done by the chairman of the board was heavy, but Mr. Danieil had spared no effort, and his labours on behalf of (ho board had been successful. No chairman could avoid making mistakes, but the present chairman had not orred often. Mr AV. Cable seconded the motion. He- «aid Air. Danieil had given his time lavishly to (he service of the board. AVelUngton trade was growing and would continuo to gvo.v. The city would become a second Sydney, or evon a second Singapore, and tho board had to look forward. Mr. Danieil had lroved himself capable of planning for the future. Tho motion wis carried unanimously. Air Danieil returned thanks brielly, and was congratulated by members of the board.
