PROTESTANT POLITICAL ASSOCIATION
Sir—The following paragraph appears in the Rev, Howard Elliott's reply ra Archbishop O'Shea's address, as published in your journal: "Tho gatherings to which tho gentleman (Archbishop O'Shea) refere wero those of the Protestant Political Association I presume— n separate and distinct organisation having no connection with the Loyal Uraiigo Institution." As an observer, and in the interests of "sober truth,'" which tho Rev. Howard Elliott appears to prido himself on having a stock-in-trade more to than anyone else, I would like tu know how he reconciles that statement with the following, which appeared in "The Nation," the official organ of this so-oalled Protestant Political Association: "This is a body called into existence by the Orange Grand Lodge for tho express purpose of consolidating tho mass of Protestant electors outside the institution." It appears to me, Sir, that Archbishop O'Shea's stock-in-trade of thu '.'sober truth is at the 'moment moro reliable than, the Rev. Howard Elliott's, whoso sole business seems to be to set up sectarian strife. I am, etc., OBSERVES,
