Massey, C. Ricluirdeon, F. M. 11. Fisher, Huston, Harris, Larnach, J.' T. Firth, Von linnet, G. Earle, Coleridge, J. .Dar-' ling, W. Luke, .1. Hannah,: Chatfield, and Montgoiucry, Miss Kothenberg, Miss Cable, and Miss Medley. Mrs. Hull-Thompson explained that the Ladies' Auxiliary and friends were verj anxious to add to tho funds raised by the Navy League Loan Exhibition (for patriotio purposes) by organising a scries of ontcrtninmonts, all of which aro to tako placo prior to tho opening of the Loan Exhibition, which will be held towards the end of July. Mrs. C. Earlo, hon. secretary of the 1,01111 Exhibition, reported l that numerous promises of help had been received from various ladies in tho . city and many offers to organise entertainments for this purpose, some of which wore already in progress whilo others again | havo been planned to tako place shortly. Mrs. Koith li-irkculdio had offered to organise several' dancos for young people in June, and Miss Massey stated her readiness to organise the production of a piny,' details of which would be mado knowii later. Mrs. D. W. Stewart had announced her readiness to help, and various other ladies were considering other forma of entertainment which wero likely to appeal to tho populai I interest. *

A suggestion was made at the meeting that tho committee ladies organise a children's fancy dress dance to bo held (if arrangements pormftted) in tho Town Hall early in July. Tho suggestion met with much approval, and it was stipulated, with much emphasis, that tho fancy dresses worn by the children should bo kept its low in cost as possible. To encourage this idea of keeping down the cost of tho dresses, prizes (six in number) aro to be offered for the frock in which tho. best results are achieved according to. tho abovo stipulation, the most original, tho daintiest, the best carried out, etc. Tho donors of these prizes aro Mrs. C. Richardson, Mrs. Firth, Mrs. Buxton, Mrs. von Haast, Miss Cable, and Mrs. J. Hannah. Tho prices fixed for children are lis., and for rnotheru (with children on 'the Iloor) Is.; for onlookew iu tho galleries, is. Tho hours for tho dance arc to bo from G p.m.,to 10 p.m. It was further suggested that tho Trentham Band be asked to provide tho miwic, and arrangements wore mado for immediate application to the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, M.'P.y for the use of tho hall on tho date suggested for tho dance. Tho following committee was set up in connection witn the dance:—Mrs. von Haast. (convener), Mrs. Massey, Mrs. Hall-Thompson, Mrs. Firth, Mrs. Hannah, Mrs. Richardson,' Mrs. F. M. B. Fisher, Mrs. Chatfield, Mrs. Buxton, Mrs. Toogood, Mrs, A. Myers, and Mrs. Mathew Holmes. At tho same time a strong committeo was formed to take ■ charge of the refreshments at tho academy during tho week that tho exhibition is being held. Altogether tho committee has good reason to bo extremely pleased with tho offers of assistance that havo been received and the arrangements which aro now well in hand in connection with tho Bchomo of entertainment, tho purnoso of which, as already stated, is to augment the ■ funds raised at tho exhibition for the benefit of tho men of our splendid Navy.
