ST. THOMAS'S CHURCH
The report <i the vestry of St. Thomas's Parochial District for thetwolvo months ended March 31, to be presented at tho annual meeting to-morrow evening, states that ihe attendance at the services havo been well' maintained and that the finances are satisfactory. Tho vicarage debt ha 3 been reduced by .£125 during tlie year, chiefly through tlio generous holp of all those who assisted ■ in the annual bazaar and an anonymou.i donation. One hundred pounds worth of tho redeemed debenture held by tho stipend endowment fund -was immediately I invested in tho AVar Izwn, so that tho bazaar was practically a patriotic ono. The debt now stands at J)2SO. St. Cntlibert's have also reduced the debt on their churchroom by .C 75 through the help of their annual effort, which is creditable to all concerned. Their dobt Is now reduced to £iib. The general .account shows a marked, increase in tho specias offerings for missions and outsido purposes, and tho special donations to. additional gtnined glass windows and the church grounds i.re much appreciated. The beautiful etainud glass East window has been placed in position and is thoroughly appreciated. The electric lignting has beon improved, also the church entrances, but furthor improvement to entrances and grounds require the early attention of the incoming vestry. The previous hindrance—finance—has been partly provided by a generous "casual worshipper," and a satisfactory scheme should be formulated and cli'cctcd as soon as possible. The parish it a general meeting decided to endeavour to raise (iiiilieient funds to participate in the erection of a pillar in the proposed new cathedral.
