An echo of the recent labour trouble at .the Knili Freezing Works was heard in the Magistrate's Court to-day, James Wallace, George Shaw, Leslie James, Stafferd Green, Henry Bondal, Alexander Legg, William Murray, John Dixey, Patrick Norton, John Hudson, and Arthur Proslon being charged mthtaJting part in a strike on' February 2S at ( the company's works. Mr. Burnard, who appeared 101 the defendants, pleaded guilty. ' The Factories' Inspector (Mr. Y\estbrooke) said that at the time m question negotiations wore m operation .by the company to increase the wages. .A t meeting of the union was held to con-. sider the offer, but the accused decided to go on with the strike. The Magistrate said the maximum penalty for the offence was £100, nit in vicir of 'tho circumstances ho would milict a penalty of .€3, in default seven days imprisonment.
