For behaving in a disorderly manner in Cuba-Street while drunk, Vraneis "William Cha])inan was fined <os., with flirt option nf seven "days' imprifonmeut . Norman "Bennett was charged with being found drunk, al:-o with using nbfcene language. Defendant was discovered silting on the doorstep of the J.ninswick Hotel, and while being taken to the Mount Cook Station he used the obscene language. It turned mil. that Bennett was an epileptic subject and had taken drink. While in the cells he had fo receive, medical'attention. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sontenco when railed-upon on each charge; he was also ordcrGd.to pay 21s. medical expenses,'and a prohibition order was issued against him, to be in foreo for twelve mouths, throughout the Dominion. For insobriety, Henry James Simmonds, against whom thcro were two previous convictions, was fined . c l's, with tho alternative of fourteen ■ .days' 'imprisonment. Two first offenders were each fined 205., in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment, and two others were lined 10s. each, with •■tlio optiou . of twenty-four hours'" impr.isonmenc. A fine of ids., in default fourteen days' imprisonment, was imjioscd on Victor Kreeman Cook for failing to notify the Government Statistician of change of abode. MAINTENANCE CASKS. Milton Georgo C. ..Oman, who was in arrears with his maintenance payments to tho amount of .ill, was sentenced to a month's imprisonment, no warrant lo issue unless applied for by complainant, and ho was further ordered lo pay h's. costs. William Scanlon, whose arrears totalled ,£(> 155., wns sentenced to a month's imprisonment, no warrant lo issue unless applied for by coinp'-iinant. Ho was also ordered to pay l'.N. costs. James Daniel Wilson, whose arrears lotajld .£s.lis., was sentenced to a" month's imprisonment, no warrant lo issue unless applied for by complainant. In the case of Eileen Moyna Clark against Frank Lawrence Clark, an application for separation and maintenance, heard soino time ago, the Magistrate in a lengthy reserved judgment remarked that to -oblige complainant to further live with tho defendant would bo tanta-mount'lo-qualifying both spouses for a mental hospital. Separation was granted, maintenance was fixed at .El per week, and defendant was ordered to pay .£5 Ills, past: maintenance and costs. Securilv for. appeal was fixed at t fc'2a. Mr. IJ. J' 1 ".
