PAHIATUA METHODIST CHURCH
QUARTERLY MEETING.
The Quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church oiliciiils, Paliiiitua, was held on Wednesday. Tho Rev. H. Cottoin presided. It was resolved that loiters bo forwarded-to the following:—Mr. Wood and family (removed to Paliner6ion North), Mr. and Mrs. Boydon, and Mr. aud Mrs. J. Cressivell (now arrivals). Mrs. Lewis, of Marlon (whofo husband lias been lulled in action), Major Clifton, Hanmor Springs (whoso eon has been wounded), and Mr. W, J. lieovo, Stratford (whose two sons havo been killed in action). The balaucosheet for the past quarter was considorod highly satisfactory, there being a good credit. Tho treasurer (Mr. Johneon) was congratulated on tho statement of finances. Tho Ekotahuna church forwarded a letter of appreciation of tho preaching appointments in tlint town last Sunday of Mr. R S. Ifoldaway, of Ballance. It was ''csolved that n series of evangelistic services bo arranged by Die minister throughout the circuit; that appeals bo made on behalf of the British and Foreign Biblo Society and the "Methodist Times"; that Ballanco mid Pahiatua church anniversaries be held in the current quarter. Pending a reply from tho homo mission committee, decision on the stipend rmostion was deferred Jill the June mooting. A bonus was voted to Uin minister. Mr. W. Webster was cordially welcomed to tho mrpfing by (l)o chairman, on behalf of the board.
