SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
The council of the Sunday School Union met in the managers' room of St. John's Church last evening. The president (Mr. A. Hoby) was in the chair, and 16 delegates were present. The Maranui, Motueka, and Solway Methodist schools were received , as members of the union. Mr. E. Burton, who had been a teacher and superintendent for over 50 yenre, was granted a long-service diploma. Mr. Burton had been in the Knripuni Methodist School for 32 years. The report on tho convention held at Blenheim during Easter showed that the gathering Kad been well attended, and the papers and discussions of a helpful and interesting character.
It was announced that the circulars regarding the examination would be issued next week. They had been delayed owing to the non-arrival of information from Australia and America.
A sub-committee was appointed to bring up a report on the .possibility of utilising moving-pictures as an aid to Sunday school work. Tho desirability of holding either district conferences or teachers' preparation classes was discussed, and a committee was appointed to bring down a, report at an early date.
