In response to a request irom the Auckland Women's Patriotic League the Auckland Harbour Board on Wednesday afternoon decided to donate <£100 towards tho funds of the league. It was stated that we had a noble band of women working in our midst, and the least that could lie done was to give them all tho support possible. Regret was expressed that-the finances of the board did not permit a more substantial donation. The Town Hall, Featherston, was crowded on Wednesday night when the Thirty-eighth Specialists gave a concert in aid of camp and patriotic funds, tjie reception accorded being very enthusiastic, and winning from the Mayor (Mr. J. W. Card) a very complimentary comliiendation. The programme as a whole was highly creditable to the organisers, of whom Lieutenant Rice (director), Serjeant Wylie (socretarj-), Sergeants Patterson and MacQuarne (treasurers), and Private 0. Cardaton were the leading lights.
