TERRITORIAL ARMY.
PROMOTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS. The appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of tho Territorial Force 'have been approved:— Lieutenant-Colonel Mathew Holmes, M.D., F.R.C.S., lidin., N.Z.M.C. (N.Z.E.F.), is appointed a member of a special district medical board, with pay and allowances cf ,lioutenant>colonel at 'Expeditionary Force rates whilst so- acting Dated March'l2, 1918, Hon. Lieutenant (temporary) Albert G. Barlow, N.Z. Permanent Staff, relinquishes the appointment of quartermaster, Tauherenikau Camp, and the honorary rank of lieutenant whilst so employed. Dated March 25, 1918. . 2nd Lieutenant (temporary Captain) 'Andrew M. Jameson, Unattached List (b), General List, relinquishes tie appointment of assistant provost-marshal and the temporary rank of captain whilst so employed. Dated March 13, 1918. Corps of Now Zealand Engineers. New Zealand-Railway Battalions (North Island). The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) William R. Setter is confirmed under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Sergeant Lewis W. K2tig to be 2nd lieutenant on probation. Dated February 6, 1918. sth Wellington Regiment. Colonel James J. Esson, C.M.G., is 6truck off the strength of the N.ZVE.F, with effect from, May 31, 1916,. and is absorbed. into the regiment with his original rank and beniority therein, viz, major, as from March 17, 1911, vide N.Z. Gazette No. 8 of February 1, 1912, and retains the rank of colonel, temporarily, whilst holding the appointment of D.Q.jI.G., N.Z. Military lorces., 7th (Wellington W«st Coast) Regiment. The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (temporary) Norman D. Cos is terminated on his being posted to the 'Unattached List (b), General List. 9th CHawke'a Bay) Regiment. 2nd Lieutenant 'temporary) Leonard F. Pegler resigns his appointment. Dated April 6, 1918. New Zealand Medical Corps. Captain Maurice G. Louisson, M.8., is struck off the of the N.Z.E.F., with effect from November 16, 1916, and is absorbed with his original rank, and Beniority, viz., captain (temporary), as from December 1, 1915, vide N.Z. Gazette No. 143, of December 16, 1915. The undermentioned to be lieutenants: Frederick M. Spencer, M.8., dated November 1, 1917; Leslie G. Bell, M.8., dated Noveihbor 8, 1917; Laurence C. Mail, M.8., dated March 4, 1918; Robert M. Wishart, Si!., dated March 11, 1918. The appointment of the undermentioned lieutenants (on probation) are eonfirmed:—Robert S. J. Fitzgerald, M.8., Charles M. Greenslado. M.8., William D. Hart, M.8., David C. Low, IEB. New Zealand Veterinary Corps. Captain Alexander A. Johnson, F.R.C.S., is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F., with effect from April 28,1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., captain, as from June 21, 1910, vido N.Z. Gazette. No. 67, of July 7,1910. New Zealand Chaplains' Dopartment. The Rev. Henry S. Craik, Chaplain to 'the Forces, 4th Class, is struok off the strength.of the N.Z.E.F., with effect from May 5, 1918, and is absorbed with 'his original rank and seniority, viz., Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class, as from June 17, 1912, vide N.Z. Gazette No. 40 of July 4, 1912. New Zealand Army Nursing Service. Sister (Jessie M. Verey resigns her apj>ointment. Dated March 28, 1918. Unattached List (b). , Lieutenant Arthur L. Gray to be captain under tho provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated September 1,1917. The undermentioned second lieutenants (temporary) to bo second lieutenants (dated August 21, 1917) -.—Basil Bronnand, John Dash, William W. Gartori. Sergeant Audrey B. Crokor to be 2nd ■lieutenant. Djited March 25, 1918. The commission of 2nd Lieutenant Stanley Lythgo is cancelled under tho provisions of Section 5 (a)' of the Defence Act, 1909. Dated March 15,1918. The appointment of Lioutenant Frederick M. Spencer is terminated on transfer to the N.Z. Medical Corps. Dated November 1, 1917. Unattached List (b). General List. Norman D. Cox, to bo 2nd lioutenant. Dated November 8, 1915. 2nd Lieutenant John L. Bollerby is struck off tho strength of tho N.Z.E.F., with effect from April 27, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., 2nd lieutenant, as from November 17, 1916, vide N.Z. Gazette, No. 47, of March 15, 1917. 2nd Lieutenant Alfred S. Reid is struck off the strength of the N.Z,E.F.,_ with effect from April 27, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority, viz., 2nd lieutenant, as from February 12, 1917, vide N.Z. Gazette, No. ■22, of February 8, 1917. Corrigendum. With reference to tho notice published in the N.Z. Gazette, No. 124, of August 2 1917, relating to 2nd Lieutenant John ji'G Craig, for the words "Unattached List (b), General List." read "Corps of N.Z. Engineers, N.Z.
