COMFORTS FOR SOLDIERS
WHAT IS PERMISSIBLE. The Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs has furnished the Ked Cross with the following information:—'The following ia a list of what it is permissible to lorward as comforts for soldiers in i'ho United Kingdom: Foodstuffs, viz., honey* cheese, fish (except lobster or salmon),, preserved meats, sago, tapioca, rice, cornllour, arrowroot, and cakes, containing sugar, if sent to the New Zealand War Contingent Association for distribution among military hospitals." Mr. Hislop adds that lie understands sugar may be sent by post only addressed to individual soldiers.
