SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
At tho Sailors' Friond Society on Tuesday Mrs. J. Moore gave a concert that hit tho laate of the men present. Tho performers, all of whom wcro encored, wore Mosdaines Cato and Morgan, and the Misses Peggy Jones, D. Black, J. M'lntyro, Doris Stevens, and F. Kutnor, and Messrs. T. E. Jones, Crump, Now] and Taylor. .Mr. Moore, missioner, spoke on "Say When, Man," and pledges against drink were taken at the close. Cheers repaid tho hostess and performers for their efforts. Thursday saw a very big gathering of men at the Institute, where the ooiiccrt given was of a novel description. A. display of hypnotism was pivoii by Mr. Hall and songs bv Messrs. Thomas, Brady, Doyle, and Tollerfcon, and recitals hy Messrs. Smith, Cflhill, Moore, and Taylor woro enjoyed Mr. Moore, Missionor, was in the chair, and appealed for reading matter for the ships.
